BeatGrid Privacy Policy

BeatGrid does not collect, store, or share any personal data. The app works entirely on your device.
1. Overview
BeatGrid (“the app”) is developed and maintained by Nicolas Bertaux (“we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses and how it is used. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
BeatGrid does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Personal identification information (name, email, address)
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Location data
- Usage analytics or crash reports sent to our servers
- The music you make — your patterns, recordings and sounds stay on your device and are never transmitted
3. MIDI and Audio
BeatGrid connects to the MIDI devices you select, such as a keyboard, so that you can play and record. MIDI and audio are processed on your device only. BeatGrid does not use the microphone and has no network features.
4. Third-Party Instruments
BeatGrid hosts Audio Unit (AUv3) instruments that you install separately, from their own developers. These instruments run inside BeatGrid but remain the software of their respective developers: the way they handle data is described in their own privacy policies.
BeatGrid does not send any personal information to these instruments. It only saves each instrument’s own settings — its sound — together with your session, so that it can restore them.
5. Local Storage
BeatGrid stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Your patterns, clips and sessions
- App settings and preferences (tempo, MIDI settings, volumes, layout, etc.)
- The instruments loaded on each track and their sounds
Session files that you export are written to the location you choose in the Files app. This data never reaches us and is not accessible to us.
6. Purchases and Accounts
BeatGrid has no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no user accounts. Getting the app is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store: we do not receive or store your payment information.
7. Third-Party Services
BeatGrid does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The app does not contain any advertisements.
8. Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect any data from users of any age.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
