FAQ
Common questions.
The microphone isn’t detecting my notes. What should I do?
Make sure HarpBend has microphone access enabled in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Play clearly and aim for a green level on the input meter — too quiet and detection becomes unreliable.
Which harmonica keys are supported?
HarpBend supports all 18 standard diatonic harmonica keys, from Low D to High G. Tap the key button (top left) to switch instantly. Chromatic mode uses a fixed C layout as standard.
What’s included for free?
Real-time pitch detection, full diatonic grid (18 keys), Major and Natural Minor scales, Major and Minor chords, 2 chord progressions (12-Bar Blues & ii–V–I), metronome with click, and the Simple bass pattern.
What do the packs add?
Scales Pack: 11 scales. Chords Pack: 17 additional chord voicings. Bass Patterns Pack: Rock, Pop, Shuffle and Walking jazz. Songs Pack: 9 blues & jazz standards + unlimited custom progressions. Chromatic Pack: Full 12-hole chromatic grid with slide positions.
Can I buy everything at once?
Yes — the HarpBend Complete bundle includes all five packs at a reduced price ($7.99), saving ~33% vs buying separately.
How do I restore my purchases on a new device?
Tap any locked feature to open its paywall, then tap Restore purchases at the bottom. All previously purchased packs will be restored automatically using your Apple ID.
How do I create a custom chord progression?
Tap the chord progression icon → My Progressions → New Progression. Set a name, tempo, and time signature, then add chords one by one.
The metronome or bass sound isn’t playing.
Check that your device is not in Silent mode. HarpBend uses its own audio engine — make sure no other audio app is holding exclusive access to the microphone.
The app doesn’t detect bends correctly.
Bends require a consistent embouchure and sufficient air pressure. Make sure the input level meter shows a stable green signal. Detection works best in a quiet environment.
How do I read the grid?
Top rows (red) = blow notes. Bottom rows (blue) = draw notes. Bend rows (orange) appear above blow or below draw holes. Active cells light up in real time as you play.
